I just fully vested after 15 years. No matter what, I am owed $25k per year for the rest of my life (25% of salary but based on $100k cap) starting at age 62. Over the next 15 years that eventually goes up to fifty percent of salary and the cap should grow somewhat for inflation (but won’t actually keep pace with inflation).

Company plans to keep it, but has scaled it way back. Some of these boomers I work with are retiring with 70 percent off their high three years with no cap.

My wife had one but they froze it 10 years ago and replaced it with a 9% 401k contribution. These things are extremely uncommon in nonunionized workplaces and are becoming fairly uncommon in union contracts as well.
