For those not following, back in summer of '22 Siversk seemed like an obvious 'next step' for russians, just as popasna and Lysichansk fell. It seemed as though this would be the gateway to the aloviansk agglomeration and would qickly lead to joining an advamce from izyum to the west to pincer that locale. At one point it was commonly thoufb sivrrsk would be taken in days, if not weeks.
Of course none of that happened and siversk became an impregnable fortress the russians could not even approach.
Well it seems to have fallen now. Things are accelerating, ever so slowly.
