At a glance or as the contemporary news spins it it seems to be primarily about race but there's very bad blood that stems from all sorts of other things within the theater. The Palestinian mandate ending in not just ethnic divorce but a key political dimension as well (George Habash was a kooky guy; the Palestinians and some faction of the Israelis both leaned left, with the Israelis having more of a religious angle to their separatism than the Arabs) |
