I watched some gameplay of cyberpunk and it's like oh, look, the westerners decided to make another FPS that isn't really an FPS, a la fallout. You leave westerners to their own devices and all roads lead to them making another fucking FPS. It's insane. They want to be "immersed." And then throw in a few Quests that involve using radar to go to a place with a cutscene you don't care about.

Gabe Newell is obviously an Ascended Nerd but jfc, this guy just cares about Engineering and making a bunch of money, he's just been infected with the mind virus of SV/NorCal writ large. No soul and dgaf about gameplay or Fun. PC gamers, being Nerds, have no real concept of fun. Maybe they shouldn't. Maybe none of us should, but it's just an observation.

Carmack is another. Looks like he should be on cowshit's Clique Exemplar Chart as a Nerd archetype. Makes ghastly murder fests where you just wander around and get lost. Dgaf about gameplay. Invented the FPS ffs.

Meanwhile Kojima is churning out masterpieces but the average gamer IQ is down to like mid-90s so no one appreciates it unless he presents it with a veneer of playing as a Badass Soldier. Newell is talking about re-architecting Lines of Code when he's the CEO and doesn't need to fucking code, while craftsmen like Kojima and Miyamoto don't even know what code is, and they (and their games) are better off for it.
