Was woken up by an island rain mini monsoon vibe this AM before dawn (the kind that makes being outside too lysergic even for me but not enough crazy weather to cause damage or usually even knock out the power), and when I couldn't fall back asleep I watched Away (2019) first because for some reason chronological order made sense to me in this context. (Im gay if that helps to clarify anything)
All I can say is, WOW. With the storm outside and the whistling of wind and flowing curtains, I just got lost in the vibe, which felt like Hatchet and Kensuke's Kingdom and Saint-Exupery and Shadow of the Colossus all rolled into one, yet so much more (European men are 180, I can't pretend otherwise). The winged soul of Christendom returning the favor when and where and how we least expect it, the eternal camaraderie of Easter Children in all forms...
Can't wait for Flow, which I remember feeling instantly intrigued by when you recommended it because we unexpectedly adopted a blind black cat a few years ago, who was such a sweet angel beyond belief (all our dogs liked her and they normally prefer a cat free household) and departed from us on an Easter weekend...
Also both my parents were born around Halloween, so it's somehow fitting that I'm diving into such mystically beautiful coming of age movies as we approach the Eve of Saints... |
