New build varies greatly. I think generally a lower end new build will probably retain value. A higher end, custom new build will not since you're relying on people valuing the same thing you do. Id assume you're going to get 50% on the dollar MAX on any upgrades or customizations. |

Date: July 12th, 2025 8:54 PM Author: nudist lay mental disorder im on my second new build. i had almost no issues with my first one. with my second one, there were some issues but all fixed properly under warranty in the first year. we are now at year 5 and no new issues.
dealing with home issues is a pain in the ass. buying new build helps you avoid quite a bit of that.
both houses are also in hoa. i have had no problems with them, but tbh i am a bit of a rule-follower. frankly i wish the current hoa was stricter. |

first was a boomer infested golf course community and holy shit boomer legit have nothing better to do than bother you all fucking day
second was some zoomer community and they really dont give a fuck about anything but holy shit newer homes are really badly built
now im out in the sticks, like it takes an hour to get to the nearest store and that store is some janky little mom and pop place, pure fucking heaven, i do whatever i want whenever i want and the few "neighbors" i have all look out for each other |
