explaining streaming to my 12 year old self would really blow my mind

"you mean you don't even have to be the best at playing games, just reasonably good and entertaining, and you can do it 8 hours a day and make million$?"

its crazy

i don't know why anyone would *want* to be on camera all day to properly stream but you can take your "lunch thoughts" edit them a bit for maximum humor/drama/poignancy and shoot them off with very minor censorship and get real dollar cash usa rupee for this. bullshit neurons firing and misfiring in a way that some might call comical and some might call tragic and etc etc et al

all sorts of drawbacks, long term hinderances, let's forget about all of this for a minute (it's no different than most other professions in this respect) and sit for a brief moment in awe at what a tool to enable bare life and its ability to channel the cosmos that mankind has created

i am terrified, entertained, struck with dumb awe, i need to vomit up a metal endoskeleton, it is incredible. time moves so quickly on a macro level that it is too easy to further compress the events in its passage down to a brief blink in where "progress" to something indescrible sneaks around your cone of historical vision like a gremlin from the hit film "Gremlins". "the future" as charted from a fuzzy point in the mid 00s by an equally inspired and deranged technologian-cartographer is both hell and heaven, agony and ecstasy, a place of complete and utter extremes coexisting in a Blake-esque nightmare of polar whiplash from one point to another, an incredible and horrible thing.
