Yes, what's lulzy the day pass you got was issued by a private entity and probably had your hotel's stamp on it. It's all run by triads who took it over in the 90s, before the Cambodian government came together. There's nothing official about any of it, you just can't get past the guards without a pass. Your tuk tuk driver had a license on the outide that let him through the gate, you can't just hire someone off the street to take you in
