Melatonin is too weak for me. I took four unisom over the course of the night and still only managed 2 hours of REM sleep. I then took a Valium which kinda worked but by then it was too late

Have an ordinary, well-organized, productive, successful, and disciplined day, to include exercise? Limit caffeine intake beyond the afternoon and do not partake in drugs or alcohol. Stop looking at your glocap screens at a reasonable time in the evening, have missionary-style creampie sex with your attractive wife, read a book in the western canon for 1 hour and/or write and/or play music on an instrument and/or paint, and go to bed. Taking magnesium at bedtime seems to help a good amount. It's probably the mildest supplement/medication you can take for this.
I'll occasionally take melatonin if I'm struggling. Just 1mg though. A lot of the supplements have far higher concentration and that seems like a dangerous path if 1mg works.
