When Trump is doing things most of the online right disagrees with and no impactful election is coming up people don't have a lot to be enthusiastic about. The right is likely to lose seats in the midterms and even if we somehow won Trump still has to sign shit so nothing is happening there.
What are people supposed to say, "Just you wait til 2028!"? All the polithiths obsessed right wingers are either expressing rage on shit like Fuentes or weighing in on dumb shit like the Kirk trial.

Because the right "won" all the easy issues
- The border is closed
- Everyone now admits trans kids are insane and trans athletes shouldn't be in women's sports. Even Gavin Newsom says this now
- BLM is dead
- Cancel culture is dead. Netflix is heavily promoting Kill Tony and Louis CK.
What is the GOP supposed to get fired up about? Mamdani taxing billionaire's vacation homes? I'm sure libs will come up with something dumb soon, but right now it's probably easier to criticize Trump's actions and comments.

Trump killed it not flame
Not directly but it can all be traced back to him

???
There was a coup by the establishment right and now there's basically no future for the youth of the American right
The left is taking them back in from what I've seen (and not even through any skill; just "you can have fun here and we sort of listen". Lol) but they're all going to wind up as retarded golems again probably
The Palestine thing really muddied the waters but after a closer examination I can say that it's just a bunch of greedy assholes squabbling. Slight point to Israel on that one

None of these people actually have the power to make real changes. It's not even a matter of will or virtue on their part. This is something that everyone understood and accepted before 2015. The entire "dissident" intelligentsia sphere in 2014 was focused on Exiting from the system rather than trying to change it, because it was understood as completely impossible
We all got lulled into an optimistic delusion because the Trump saga starting in 2015 was so genuinely seductive and exciting. I don't think people were wrong or "stupid" to fall into this worldview (I was one of these people) - we are all human, and it was undeniably attractive and literally everyone got caught up in it
Now all of the smart people are back down to earth and back to focusing on ways to work around and exit the system, one decade later. There's definitely an argument to be made that Trump was singularly responsible for hamstringing any possibility of positive political change for ~12 years

Yeah I mostly agree. The only push back (that is fair and right for me to do) is that I don't think the optimism was delusional. There's plenty of precedent for political revolutions that reshaped things, and Trump has done a lot.
Ushering in populism and actually enforcing immigration policy to this extent was unthinkable in 2015. I've always thought Trump is a bafoon but I hoped he would be a Jacksonian type that messed everything up but some Vanceian type would build it up in his wake. Now it seems like he'll go down like Obama as a traitor to his base, which will demoralize a lot of people (and a big reason libs have been so low energy since then.)
But who knows. 2 years is a long time. A Trump didn't look possible in 2014 or even 2022. People's memories are short and the biggest blunder, Iran, is something there's still time to resolve in time it to be a distant memory for most people in 2028. Hell, he's old as fuck, he could easily Lindsey Graham tonight.
I do think significant systemic change is impossible until there's some big event that forces it. You need about a supermajority for that to happen electorially and with how things are polarized it's hard to envision. But we'll see. The only thing I'm certain about when I look through the decades is big things happen that no one saw coming. If any of us could predict the future we'd be billionaires from Kalshi.

We all wanted him to achieve it, but that wasn't actually necessary. What was needed was someone fighting like hell to do it and making public and clear where the roadblocks are
What would have actually been interesting is what would have happened if he tried his best while still committing/allowing rampant graft and corruption. You'd have plenty of idiots who would want to excuse it since he tried. I'm a weird way, that would be even more damaging long term than what we've gotten
In short, fuck that motherfucker. I hope his entire family is added to the sanctions list one day soon

The right has complete control of all branches of the US government and is don’t whatever it wants.
Seems like people don’t think it’s going well.
