Been getting heavily into Jung and Depth Psychology interpretations of religiosity. From what I understand, what has happened is that my psyche has sliced off the dark, chatoic aspects of my inner reality and FLUNG them into a separate bucket. I have been left with a fragile, one-dimensional GOD IMAGE that requires constant psychic energy to protect itself from the intrusion of real world evidence.
good body text, but "My GOD IMAGE has become DISTORTED by a CRUCIFIXION of OPPOSITES" should read "my God image doesn't reflect reality as seen from living a crucifixion of opposites"
yes, and yes, but it is very challenging material. jung uses "active imagination" - letting the unconscious come to the surface and recording what it states no matter how strange, odd, ugly, scary, etc - while maintaining an observer's position and not wholly identifying with the material. the material is largely symbolic and mythical and requires an interpretative lens. he has an epilogue which cuts off abruptly where he acknowledges that the material reads as schizophrenia/mentally ill. its understandable why he didn't want it published in his lifetime (if at all) and only showed it to a few people. it is very good though.
