Additionally, a comet or certain big icy rocks, when they get close to the sun, can have the water evaporate and shoot strong steam streams that can alter course, but they found no evidence of this or steam trails whatsoever. Additionally, it was traveling much, much faster than other things like that and they can't account for the sudden change in trajectory after its earth glide by. If cometary outgassing is ruled out and the inferred excess force is real, only one possibility remains: an extra push due to radiation pressure from the sun. In order for this push to be effective, ‘Oumuamua needs to be less than a millimeter thick but with a size of at least 20 meters (for a perfect reflector), resembling a lightsail of artificial origin."
