I am NEVER going to learn how to speak German good. I'm sorry to everyone who believed in me. I speak fluent French at the literary/Ph D level. That's it. I'm a filthy bilingual. I'm bi. But with my never ending intermediate German I'm just never gonna be a full triglot. OK? This is my retirement from German. I'm sorry everyone.

I'm really not bad at it but it's hard to get experience without deep immersion. I have never lived anywhere long term where it's a main language. And there's too much memorization. My grammar is fine but my vocab is inept. I can't remember what the words mean they all sound so similar. I think I've crested the 'hard' stage though. Just too much memorization and I'd have to live there for like two years.

its too hard to actually learn. you have to conjugate predicate nominatives and bs like that. there was some stupid thread years ago where poasters were pretending spanish is harder and it was ridiculous.

Spanish is the simplest language in the world.
But German isn't that hard. After a lot of real world practice and repetition you get used to it. The noun casings isn't that bad. For me the hard part is vocab. Is betreildigungen a word? Maybe not but you couldn't tell. They all sound exactly the same.
