Worked out this AM, had a decent breakfast. Took first shot (0.25mg). Working from home today. Decided to make lunch - prepared tuna salad. Eating it felt weird - I only finished about half a can. No bread. Feel full without any desire to snack or anything. This stuff only really kicks in fully in a day or so, and you really need to increase doses to have the full effect. But many seem to report lower appetite within hours like I have. I may have the rest for dinner, and that may be it for the day.

Looking to lose about 50lbs in 4 months. I think that is doable as long as I keep up with cardio and weight lifting. Need to figure out how to get more protein though (will likely start shakes)

5'11". Have ranged from ~210 to as high as 285 in my adult life. Weighed in this AM at 249. I have a decent amount of muscle and a broad chest, but I obviously look much better closer to 200 lbs. If I get consistently below 200 (like to 185 or so, which is my stretch goal by year end), it will be a whole new era for me.

50lbs in four months is aggressive, but I have done something similar before.

Being diabetic (or pre diabetic or whatever) makes it easier to get these shots, FWIW, especially with good insurance. It could help you nip all this stuff in the bud.

No idiot. GLP1's don't make you keep up with cardio and weight lifting. They make you eat less. That's the fucking key.

Docs told me it was very important to keep up with exercise, and I agree - especially if I want to maintain muscle mass. I can currently bench 5x225, for example. I am going to try to keep to that as much as possible as I lose weight. Will probably be impossible, but I need to try in order to maintain muscle.

Keeping up with exercise as the GLPI-1 make you eat less is a way to accelerate the weight loss

Well I haven’t been over 260 in years - been between 230 and say 260 the past five years. Was last around 210 in 2015. From my current weight, a 50lbs weight loss would mean a 2-4 inches off my waist and jacket size - basically a more compressed version of myself. I kind of balloon and deflate if that makes sense.

I have worked out consistently since high school, so just a lot of calories. Some people like to eat. Also I carry weight pretty well, so people are always surprised when they hear the actual lbs

FWIW, at weights from 210 to 225 are when I actively get hit on by women, if that is any indicator

That’s a bodybuilding target. For maintenance in a significant caloric deficit, that’s probably going to be too much (especially if you can’t eat that much). I’m starting at 125-150 grams and going from there.

Two eggs and fruit for breakfast this AM

Cup of soup for lunch

Chicken breast and broccoli for dinner

Weighed in at 238 today. I moved up to the 5 MG shot earlier this week.

1) I have noticed more dizziness on a day to day basis. I did leg day in the gym - ended up getting up to 5x265. Also added kettlebell goblet squat, leg press (600+ lb), etc. I almost fainted in the gym several times

2) 5MG makes it even harder to eat carbs. I am also noticing it is harder to drink alcohol - particularly beer.

3) probably eating about 1,000 to 1,500 calories a day. Today, I had a 200 calorie smoothie, about to have a 300-400 calorie omelette, finishing up with chicken breast and asparagus for dinner

4) I met my tailor earlier this week - she confirmed I lost several inches in my chest and waist.

I expect to be close to 230 by mid May, and close to 220 by mid June.

1. Dizziness and fatigue is a normal side effect of taking the shot. My doctor recommended that I split up my dosage into 2 shots every 3 days. I did that I no longer felt any side effects and was able to exercise more consistently.

2. I also lost the desire to drink once back on the shots. Even when I do drink, I can't finish the entire glass.

3. Has your desire to gobble cock increased much?

My desire to gobble cock remains very low. However as I lose weight, I am considering walking around the gym locker room naked a bit more to as my cock looks a bit better (even flaccid)

Every 10 lbs you lose, you gain an inch on your dick.

So your desire to slobber on a thick veiny hard one is low, but it's not 0%?

Is that right?

One more observation - the last week on 2.5MG was kind of BS - ate more week over week. 2.5MG isn’t even a therapeutic dose, but it does seem like you need to keep pushing this medicine for it to remain effective. I’m gonna try to get up to 10MG then stop.

Honestly no idea - the forums are full of people on “maintenance” who do stuff like take a shot every two weeks, divide up shots, etc.

For me - if I cut down on wine and drinks with dinner permanently, there is a possibility I could get off of them and stay off. But I have lost weight before and gained it back, so it will likely be a life long struggle

Starting to get multiple comments a week on how I have lost weight. Slower weight loss recently though, at 234 this AM.

The most surprising thing to me is that I have been able to continue to increase my lifts as I have been losing weight. Not sure how long that will last. This past week I benched 225x6 and squatted 275x8. Neither are my one rep max right now or anything, but I have been able to continue to push my weights as I lose weight.

Hopefully, I as cross 225 lbs on the downside in bodyweight, I can hit 225x8 on the bench.

Bouts of dizziness / lightheadedness throughout the day, especially at the gym.

Never really had any GI issues besides some constipation early. That has gone away though. No nasea or anything.

Yeah, it reduces the desire to drink, both from a psychological level and physical level (you can’t drink a lot of drinks with a bunch of carbs or you feel full).

The dizziness is probably related to blood sugar and blood pressure rather than hydration

You can still get drunk, especially on wine and liquor. However you lose interest in getting drunk. When you do get drunk hangovers are worse, and it’s easier to get a hangover it seems

232 this AM, so only about a pound or two over the past week. That said, stepping up to the next dose (7.5mg) next week. Looking forward to breaking 230 by next Friday. Looking forward to breaking 220 by the end of June. Pushing towards 200 by Labor Day.

Almost fainted in the gym today, but still put up big weight on the incline bench press. Dizziness is likely related to low blood pressure - I have consistently been in the 100- 105 / 60 - 70 range on my home cuff recently

Went to an event last weekend - got multiple comments on both how I lost weight and how I am looking jacked

Took second shot of next dose yesterday. Appetite suppression is getting stronger

Squatted 8x305 today. I will squat three plates next week - not sure the last time I have done that.

Meeting with trainer on Saturday - thinking about purchasing 10 sessions to supercharge weight loss in June

Won’t weigh in again until Monday, but feel like I have lost a few lbs since last post

These are truly wonder drugs

Hit 229 on the scale today. Will be under 215 or so by August

1) Got blood work - massive improvement over three months in blood sugar, red blood cells, cholesterol

2) Saw cardiologist, she was super happy with progress, especially blood pressure

Going up in dose in a couple of weeks. Also my lifts have gotten hugely better.

I am generally more tired during the day because of the caloric deficit. No loss of overall "motivation" though. I think my dopamine reaction is a duller than before (some people report huge loss of interest in gambling, drinking, etc), but it is still there.

People are now starting to ask if I am losing weight voluntarily - lol. Maybe I need to slow it up and lift more.

Three month checkup with doc tomorrow. Will ask her next steps and pacing. My original 50 lbs in 4 months goal is squarely achievable with another 10-15 lbs by the end of July.

Upping this thread given the other Ozempic thread is causing some waves. Hit 223 earlier last week - honestly lost only a pound or two a week the past two weeks, largely due to travel. More travel next week, so expect limited progress. Will get back on it in mid July through end of August. Obviously 215 by sometime in August is still achievable, along with sub 200 by early Fall. The question is - do I push for 185 or 180(!). Friends and family are already saying I need to completely stop losing weight right now.

When you range from just chubby to fat all of your life, and you are chubby and on the way down, people who have known you for 20-40 years are going to say you don't need to lose any more. I don't look like a skelator, but my clothes are loose and people notice. People say I look good now, and admittedly I would look every more different down another 20-25 lbs

It’s hard to make a true comp - I have a trainer who switched up my bench form (I now use less of my shoulders and go down to my chest) - but I would guess both my bench and my squat have at best stayed flat and likely have declined a bit. I can still do my new body weight for a couple of reps, but I was doing more than that with my bad form a while back. That being said - my chest looks better, so I am maintaining some pecs. At the end of the day, dropping 40-50 pounds in a few months, you have to expect lifts to come down a bit.

Some other lifts (like lats and shoulders) seem to have remained the same or improved. I’m doing a full body set tomorrow without my trainer so I will see how much I can lift

that sounds great! happy to hear it. proper technique has to be #1 to avoid injury imo, so if it's not apples to apples comparing with the past, that's fine. and totally agree, if you lose that amount of weight, you would expect many of the lifts to come down a bit. but that's great that many of them are staying close, and you're still getting after it

Had to buy new pants - a solid 36 in slim fit chinos (J Crew, Ralph Lauren, etc). Also a solid large in basically all shirts instead of an XL. Neck size down about half an inch. I will probably be in size 34 pants in a couple months. I’ve basically never been a 34 in pants since I got to adult size (sometime in high school).

The tailored clothing I bought when I was around 240 generally still fits, but loose. Many of my suits are now too big. Will get some recut. I now realize that I bought nice made to measure suits when I was ~275 to make myself feel better. Wasted tens of thousands of dollars. Never again. Off the rack now works and is cheaper (even nice brands).

Not buying shit right now besides causal shit on sale. I am sending some pants/blazers and suits to get taken in for the moment.

I had a girl that used to make MTM suits for me - I told her no more until I hit my goal weight (she is pissed off, lol). I think when I am back in the market I will look for the Saks sales - they have a couple of times a year when you can buy Zegna and similar suits for big discounts.
