he's considering enrolling in cardozo at sticker in the fall. i asked if his parents were helping, and he said nope, and he'd have to take out full loans for it.
then i proceeded to give him xo scholarship on TTTs being a scam with bullshit employment data, whittier closing down, etc. told him he'll be 200k in debt and may never make that money back.
he said no lawyer he talked to ever told him any of this before. jfc are other lawyers not saying anything of this shit to him? how fucking irresponsible.
he seemed to think he'd be okay with a patent bar number. i told him that means you MIGHT get a medium-paying job doing patent prosecution, not that you'll get biglaw ip.
i told him to get into a patent agent program and have them pay for law school, or just stay a patent agent. and see if he likes it.
pddj said i literally crushed his life dreams. i couldnt tell bc im low eq but she said he seemed like he was about to cry. |

I am invariably the first one to go through the cost-benefit analysis with them.
Nearly every damn one of them has gone on to law school anyway, including several to TTTs and FTTs. |
