OP is a shitlib who has been spamming nonstop in favor of this movie for days even before supposedly watching it. Even if this post is not flame, his opinion is not exactly impartial.
Love this 70 IQ poast of his from 3 days ago defending the tranny nig casting

I liked it, it's visually stunning.
Wish they would've showed Odysseus dicking down Circe and Calypso. He fucked the shit out of both of them for years, had kids with Circe, and then was just like "welp ... I better head on out." Could've been home after like 2 years.
The final slaughter scene was weak I thought. In the book I remember him and his son basically fighting back to back and just pwning the fuck out of everyone.

New York Review of Books offers this long take.
tl;dr: Nolan does a great job but he refashions Odysseus as a Nolanesque protagonist rather than Homer's version.

People will always find something to be mad about online
if it were really faithful it would be boring and weird as fuck. everybody would be like why did odysseus stay and fuck the witch, that makes no sense. why did they talk so much about foot washing protocols. why was penelope such a flat character. etc. frankly when you read the "original" a lot of stuff is missing, not always internally consistent, certainly not logical in the way modern audiences would relate to.
(also nobody really knows how to make a faithful adaptation of a story that comes from oral tradition of 700 years, which was itself adapted for the classical greek audiences. the classical story we know was already modified for people to whom the original cultural context was alien.)
I thought the film was phenomenal. Beautiful, tense, well acted, imaginative, spooky, weird, and tragic.

It's funny how you libs readily make this point yourselves when praising the movie, but deny it when conservatives point out the same thing:

Throughout the epic, strangers are welcomed or rejected according to Zeus’ sacred laws of hospitality, and civilisations are judged by how they treat those who arrive at their shores. In an era where migrants, refugees and even neighbours are increasingly imagined as dangerous threats to be treated with suspicion, Nolan’s adaptation reminds us how easily people convince themselves they are heroes, while viewing everyone else as invaders.

This movie's pro-migration subversion of xenia is not at all how xenia was perceived by the Greeks. Nolan's interview where he says xenia (which he misdefines) is the basis of the Golden Rule was so bizarre and telling. The Greco-Roman world had no analogies of the Golden Rule, which was an entirely innovation of 1st Century Palestine. Greek xenia is reciprocal and status-based, while the Golden Rule was universal and unconditional. Nolan's misinterpretation of Greek guest rites is not an accident. Connveniently, this misreading enables the pro-migrant messaging Nolan wanted to project (glad youre no longer denying it's pro-migrant).
E.g., Julian the Apostate's observations on the advantages of Christianity over paganism:
"These impious Galileans not only feed their own poor, but ours also; welcoming them into their agapae, they attract them, as children are attracted, with cakes."
