ChatGPT Just Told Me To Cite An Unpublished Case & Doubled Down

Date: June 1st, 2026 3:54 PM Author: Cerise Crawly Bbw i asked it for a case to cite to support a point. it gives me quotes from a case that turns out to be unpublished. (yeah i didnt tell it explicitly not to give me unpublished cases or to warn me, but why isnt this something it's trained on?)
and then decided to call chatgpt out and said: isnt this case unpublished. it responds:
