i know what you're going to do here. i was all set to write out a novel length post and you were just going to respond with like "nice" or something.
My spector is an exceptional bass that i will never sell. this particular model (the doug wimbish signature) has a slim neck profile making it very comfortable to play. I was a little nervous about the gloss finish on the neck because i prefer satin, but I actually really like it. The tone, especially after I replaced the preamp, is really phenomenal. It's so full but also articulate and versatile depending on how you play. I can play lightly and get a nice clean tone or dig in a bit and get some dirt on it. a joy to play fingerstyle, with a pick or slap.
My only complaint is the control knobs. There are 4 knobs 2 volume for each pickup, bass, treble. I really only play with everything dialed up to 10. The controls would be much better if it were 1 volume knob, 1 pickup blend, bass, treble (would be nice to have a mid knob too). So i feel like i can't really adjust my tone that much on the fly which is annoying playing in a cover band that ranges from billy joel to earth wind and fire to dua lipa to guns n roses. Notwithstanding, I played a 3 hour NYE show using the spector without any pedals and we fucking killed it.
My peavey cirrus is still overall a better bass, and without hesitation I would pick it if I had to only have 1. It's even more comfortable to play and has more versatility. But the spector just has more low end and bite. I've moved back to using the peavey as my primary and just dialing in that extra bit of aggression with my sansamp pedal.
Man I said this was going to be a short post, and I really tried to give the short version but I know you are just going to blow me off and make me look like a faggot here.
