lol are you a vienna circle noob? nazis literally hated them and called them Jewish Philosophy. Moritz Schlick was even assassinated for practicing Jewish Philosophy in the vienna circle. Many of the analytic tradition in england and new york ended up there due to displacement of Jewish Philosophers from wwii. It only became an "anglo-american" tradition due to this displacement.

It's not perfect. It can be annoying when they spend way too long dividing everything into various distinctions. Like here is a distinction, here is a counterexample to the distinction, here is a distinction that survives the counterexampmle, here is a counterexample to *that*. But I think it is still preferable to the baroque excess of continental philosophy, although that stuff can be fun to read in its poetic oracular style. Obviously Ancient Greek and early classical modern through 18th century are GOAT, but that stuff is all outdated now so we are stuck with what we have.

cr re: the tragedy of ancient greeks. i'm not a huge fan of continental philosophy & agree heidegger/hegel/derrida are baroque

the lineage that most resonates with me is the "third way" of philosophical pessimism with a phenomenological core (truth felt in the body and then verbalized, *not* the other way around) - jung, kierkegaard, weil, cioran. wittgenstein approached this a bit later in life
