The tradeoff is that 90% of the game is just talking to people or zapping them with your watch. If there's a "stealth" component it's in talking to people and choosing dialogue options to avoid combat. Instead of just sneaking up on a dood you use your "charisma" to make him think you're harmless, then you walk right past him. Seriously.
