The US does not stick out of this list at all.
These are all the countries of the new world.
Without jus soli, there would be virtually no citizens - be they descendants of European immigrants, Native Americans, or enslaved Africans.
Americans like to think of themselves as most similar to European nations , when in reality we are most similar to Brazil.
