1. you introduce racial crime disparities

3. you point out that this is wrong; poor whites in appalachia don't have anything near those murder rates.
4. lib screams "IT'S ABOUT URBANIZATION!!!"
5. no, that's wrong too - poor mexicans inside of cities don't have those murder rates, either.
6. this is when the lib will begin screaming about "discrimination," and maybe cite the atlantic's reparations article from last month.
at this point, you could keep arguing, knocking down the lib's claims one at a time, but it won't matter, because the lib is operating from religious faith. this is also when some of the wilder conspiracy theories and prevarications will arise. everything from the FBI lying about its own statistics to pointing out that mobsters often destroyed bodies of victims so they wouldn't be found, thereby artificially reducing the "white" murder rate.
they will also drop any pretense of statistical rigor and go right to the "ADAM LANZA WAS BLACK????" card, which is one of their hobbyhorses. they will also just start throwing out slurs. |

I would say thst the ultimate origins of black people's problems in the US lie with the US government, but at this point culture (whether engendered by the historical treatment of black people or not) is the primary factor in explaining disparate crime rates today. |
