And even if it wasn't, federal intervention might still be justified. The community has serious doubts about the integrity of the investigation, as the accused is literally best buddies with the people doing the investigation. It is not unreasonable to want an independent investigation by a third party.
You may disagree that the FBI should be that third party, but it's as good as any other and gets the job done. |
