it's almost like they're extremely different places
one is traffic oriented but the traffic is so shitty you often can't go very far
the other has excellent public transportation
one is highly segregated so the nice parts are very nice indeed
the other is, well, still pretty segregated, but somehow can't seem to figure out how to take out the trash despite having enough money in property tax (AND city tax!) to fund a an actual small army
one has great weather, another has standard seasons
blah blah blah
the only thing they have in common is both are fucking absurdly expensive places to live. obviously MFH apartments are more expensive, but NYC suburbs are actually cheaper than their la equivalent for people who want that sort of thing.
personally I would never want to live in either
