My first recommendation would be killing yourself.

After that I'd say it sounds like maybe you want a plaintiffs' firm? Quinn is one of the few biglaw firms (only?) that I know of that does plaintiffs' side class actions.

If you really care about the social justicey stuff you might want to look into somewhere like Cohen Milstein.

Say it's a controversial, yet lucrative issue. Would a host of regional eager beavers, be better for a class action than a large firm with clients in other aress that could be offput by their balls to take on powerful institutions in this hypothetical?

Almost all class action firms are regional. A few are multi-state but there aren't really national pure plaintiffs class action firms the way there are with big law.

The damages would be enormous so the financial incentives are just as strong. However, it will be a fight, so if they're on the fence I think the deal maker would be asense of moral outrage.

It's extremely selective, perhaps because of small size, and has a different compensation structure.

You probably want a "bigplaintiffs" firm like Lieff Cabraser, Bernstein Litowitz, Labaton Sucharow, Grant Eisenhower, Robbins Geller, shit like that. These firms are pretty big - big enough you could conceivably get a job unlike some of the uber prestigious little boutiques - and do all plaintiffs class action work.

Shittier pay (especially at senior associate and junior partner levels) for the same hours as big law, but it does seem like associates at these firms do less make-work bull shit and start doing more interesting shit earlier. You see midlevels at those places take depos, argue motions, and shit like that against v10 partners pretty often with the reverse never true. Still I think the pay is much worse than defense big law, like senior associates pulling 200k (while the couple people at the top of each firm buy yachts and style on big law partners).
