That said, it doesn't have the same feel as hardwood. You also can't refinish. It is crazy durable though. New stuff has about 24 hours for water exposure. It's also the hardest, rated below bamboo but much higher than hardwood.
The new engineered hard wood seems like a scam though. Looks and feels like laminate and often can't be refinished. There is also the new tiles that look nice. |

Cork is a newer type of flooring but it's highly credited. It's extremely durable, soft on the feet, and is a great insulator against heat and noise. |
