This is not representative. Most Racks are pretty well lit and smell good. They're mostly newly built/renovated stores.

That said, every Ross I've ever been to has looked shabby.

Ross' merchandise (especially clothes) is pretty shitty, basically never shop there. TJMAX has some good shit in the homegoods department, definitely bought some stuff there, and I think some puma sweatpants in the past year. Nordstrom Rack seems a little pricey, and I don't like most of the stuff that they sell.

Nordstrom Rack - just a few times.

TJMaxx - yes, since I was a kid. Usually just socks, underwear, mesh shorts and that sort of thing, but also the jeans I wear most. The household stuff is better than Target and better than rolling the dice on Amazon.

Ross - have never been.

per the poaster below, they have a decent selection of jeans

they also have ok brands like gant, mountain hardware, north face, vineyard vines which are often on clearance

in mfh at least, they have a very good selection of shoes, where u can often get a $400-500 pair of dress shoes for $150-200 (still expensive yes, but better than spending the same amount on some crappy florsheims)

I buy the vast majority of my basketball/gym shorts from Ross, that's about it. As a kid TJ Maxx was the place to cop street wear like, echo, sean john, phat farm, and roca wear on the cheap. I was fresh as fuck. Have only been to a nordstrom rack a couple of times, have never stepped foot in a Marshall's before.

I'm a huge NORDSTROM RACKMO

I buy all my work clothes there. 100% of my dress shirts are Nordstrom Rack store brand, the slim fit is like the only shirt I can fit into perfectly off the rack. And it's like $25 and they constantly get new patterns in, plus have button down varieties of both the plain white and blue. I probably buy like ten a year and replace as necessary.

I get some home goods from Marshall's sometimes. Never clothes.

compare the pricing to Banana Republic/Gap where I cop most of my workwear. Also, I need a credited place to cop comfortable dress shoes without dropping 4 bills.

Store brand shirts are 25-30 bucks, but other brands are like 35-50+. The store brand shirts are great, though.

Dress pants start at like 40, I usually spend like 60, they go up over a hundred.

They carry Cole Haan, Stacy Adams, Kenneth Cole all the way up to Versace, but all of it is outlet price or less.

Everything there is superior to Gap and at least on par with BR.
