Even though racism is technically a belief, we think of it in terms of behavior. Not letting someone sit next to you on a bus, or drink from the same water fountain, or refusing to hire someone because of their color. It's a social crime.
The "white supremacy" stigma is built around an image of (often unemployed) rednecks with stupid beliefs. Powerless people with ugly thoughts.
It's also more specific, which implicitly condones other brands of racial supremacy. |
