Saw Last Jedi earlier today; it's starting to sink in

The movie broke a lot of Star Wars conventions, like using flashbacks. A lot of the designs were over the top even by prequel standards, and a lot of the effects had a cartoonish feel.
It was also weird how they used a lot of modern idioms. Poe actually says "Big ass gun"
A lot of it had the pacing and stylings of a LOTR movie, come to think of it |

The opening battle is really good, and it's not quite anything from any other SW movie

Then, the entire bomber fleet attacks the destroyers and are killed. Then, at the end, it is revealed that if s ship goes to light speed through another ship, it can blow up the other ship even w it’s shields up, so the bombers could have just jumped to light speed and suicide exploded all the first order ships from the beginning.
