Most nice watches aren’t durable and most durable watches you’d wear can’t be worn in nearly any situation. Rolex made it socially acceptable to wear a dive watch with a suit.
My Tudor GMT gets consistent -1s a day and my vintage datejust survives lots of rough daily wear/water exposure yet I can wear it with anything. My omegas have been much more finicky, and I don’t have and AP/Patel yet, but the Genta-designed watches I want from their lineups are famous for being very fragile. |

It's a pretty good watch maker with superlative marketing that strivers and followers have driven to a level well above where it should be.
