1 was asian girl w/ perfect scores, AMC math competition etc, college math classes, etc.
2 was hispanic guy with almost perfect scores, nationally ranked AMC math guy (like top 10 AMC math in the country), college math classes, etc. - this guy was a legit genius
3 was a white guy with perfect scores, 5s on 20 AP exams, college math classes, very unusual extracurriculars
then 3 white legacies who bought their way in, ljl |

1. common app and online apps in general making it easier to apply to a lot of schools.
2. more information out there, so kids are better prepared and knowledgeable about the admissions process.
3. kids are now aware of how important college pedigree is, so kids who usually would just settle for big state U are applying everywhere.
4. increase in international applicants.
