The doorbell we went with Skybell. No monthly fee. Videos are stored for 7 days and then deleted. You can download any that you want in that time period. Thermostats in the main living area, garage, and mother-in-law allow me to control everything and check on house temperatures even when I'm away at work. I'm gone half the year.
Both well worth the money. |

Also, all modern air conditioning units are designed to communicate with the company's thermostat. You may be leaving a lot of functionality on the table if you have such a system and use Nest.

Use a Netgear Arlo 5 camera system for exterior monitoring & 1 floating camera we position indoor when we travel or have someone working inside the house. |

I used to have the skybell doorbell. Bought it back in 2015 when they were relatively new to the market and it was always very buggy and had trouble getting it to ever work right for an extended period of time.
Haven’t had any problem with the nest doorbell since it was installed.
I also added a hydrawise wifi Controller this year for my sprinkler system and so far so good I like it and it does a good job of not sprinkling on days when there’s going to be enough rain and sprinkling more when it’s really hot and less when it’s cool. |
