Clinton, for reasons we'll likely never know because she is immune to the law, ran all of her email through a private email server. Her handlers deleted whatever they felt like deleting before handing it over to the government, thus making a mockery of federal records laws. It would be different if she used a separate server in conjunction with the government/public one. But what she wanted was total control over all of her (publicly owned) communications? Why? Because she knew she wanted to run for president again and didn't want Republicans to be able to FOIA for her PUBLIC WORK.
