so every movie that mentioned Lucifer also cursed its audience?

also wouldn't typing out its name and researching it like you're doing 'give it more power' than passively watching a movie about it

Lucifer is super generic and if he exists, wouldn't be influenced by his name being brought up in a movie. He can't be summoned.

Paimon is an extremely specific demonic force that is explicitly described as summonable in all those grimoires. he can be called upon and fucked with. It is a fucking bad idea to go see a movie where he plays such a prominent role

exactly, but you can't summon Lucifer himself, just his minions. Same way you can't summon God himself, but you can apparently summon his angels (see: John Dee).

I'm not sure I believe in this occult/magick stuff, but it just strikes me as something I'd rather not let into my mind. I'd rather see a slasher flick.

some review piece on this tried to explain how paimon is actually not a demon and is no big deal so its a good idea to go see it. They're all satanists, the lot of them.

I thought the movie was good, especially by the standards applied to this subgenre (horror/possession). But I don't get the reactions. Tons of movies have people being possessed or haunted by evil spirits. It Follows, Drag Me to Hell, Paranormal Activity, etc. What is special about Paimon? The movie barely even explains who he is.
