Poast new message in this thread

The battle lines were officially drawn today: The Church is moving on from the rampant pedophile and subsequent covering up scandals, to address more important things, such as advocating for illegal migrants.

Make no mistake, those paying attention recognize that this is a civil war within the Catholic Church.
On one hand, you have the lavender/gay mafia, headed by Pope Francis. As you can see, they want nothing more than to turn the Church into a liberal political advocacy group (and they’ve largely been successful).
On the other, you have conservative leaders aligned with Bannon who are strongly opposed to this.
If the unfortunate happens and the (((Pope’s))) side wins, every practicing Catholic has a responsibility to renounce the Church and turn to something else. I’d prefer if you started following Joel Osteen, but this isn’t required. What is required, however, is to take action denouncing this satanic organization.

Did you just shit up my thread with Osteen stuff, then steal the link and start a new, Catholic thread?

That would be cool.
But I agree, the marriage between the (((media))) and the (((Pope))) makes the Good side’s chances seem slim at best.
But that’s why I made this thread. Good people must take action and leave, now that the Church has decided to display its true colors.

We dont have to choose shit.
IDGAF about big church politics. Ill continue going to my church, get involved with community groups, and remain blissfully unaware of the Byzantine intrigue at the top.

Explains what this means practically.
In the scenario in my OP, the gay/lavender mafia prevails. Priest pedophilia and the Pope’s coverups are swept under the rug, and doubtlessly will occur again. The coup leaders are all forced to resign or otherwise marginalized in the Church. And the Church begins to get much more vocal and politically active in liberal causes, such as for open borders.
What do “loyal Catholics” do in your scenario? Absolutely nothing? Isn’t that tacitly supporting a newly evil organization?

They split off as the true catholic church, as many congregations have done already. Make their own bishops, and in some cases even cadrinals and a pope. I.e., sedevancantist churchesm the palmarian catholic church , etc. SSPX also did this and even had their bishops excommunicated for a while. If the numbers grow, the vatican would view this as an existential threat and it could help conservatives take back the church.

If you check out the link in the OP, there’s zero chance the Vatican sees the error in its ways.
There are two distinct factions within the church vying for power.
I suppose that if the Good side loses, there are enough of them that they will formally split off, leaving it up to local churches to choose a side. Does that sound right?

I was raised by a very Catholic mother.
Sunday school for 8 years. Church every Sunday. All the sacraments.
Crippling guilt about everything deeply instilled.
Raised to constantly apologize & worry about what other people think.
Raised to live in constant fear of making mistakes.
The older I got, the more I really resented the mind-control institution that is the Catholic Church.
I’m not saying it doesn’t have benefits—it does. Catholic schools are generally very good (not that my family could afford to send me to one, but my mom had 12 years of Catholic schooling); kids often become relatively well-behaved, productive members of society. Local communities help each other out. Etc.
But the reverence for the “holiness” of priests (many of whom used the institution as a means to sexually abuse children) & the psychological damage promulgated by the church as a means to *control* its parishioners are just appalling to me.

Or maybe you just suffer from crippling narcissism, believing that if something didn’t happen to you, it must not exist.
There’s a whole Wikipedia entry for the widely experienced phenomenon of “Catholic Guilt.” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_guilt
Glad you didn’t experience it. Many have.

"However, a study from Boston University found that no particular religion was more common among OCD patients, and that OCD patients were no more religious than other subjects with anxiety."
"Researchers from the University of California at Berkeley and from the University of Notre Dame examined the concept of Catholic guilt among U.S. teenagers. The authors found no evidence of Catholic guilt in this population, noting that Catholicism both caused and relieved less guilt than other religious traditions."
"A study from Hofstra University reported no difference in total guilt among religions, although religiosity itself was connected to guilt."

Are you contending I said Catholicism causes more guilt issues than other religions?
Because I surely did not.
Many religions are similar in their use of guilt as a controlling mechanism.

This is a not controversial and well settled.
Homosexuality itself is not a sin. Gay sex, however, is.
Gay marriage is an absolute no-go.

The Church actually has a policy on homosexual 'tendencies,' classifying them as not to be supported. Francis has made several comments that poeple have interpreted as going against this.
http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/ccatheduc/documents/rc_con_ccatheduc_doc_20051104_istruzione_en.html
"The Catechism distinguishes between homosexual acts and homosexual tendencies.
Regarding acts, it teaches that Sacred Scripture presents them as grave sins. The Tradition has constantly considered them as intrinsically immoral and contrary to the natural law. Consequently, under no circumstance can they be approved.
Deep-seated homosexual tendencies, which are found in a number of men and women, are also objectively disordered and, for those same people, often constitute a trial. Such persons must be accepted with respect and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. They are called to fulfil God's will in their lives and to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter[8].
In the light of such teaching, this Dicastery, in accord with the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, believes it necessary to state clearly that the Church, while profoundly respecting the persons in question[9], cannot admit to the seminary or to holy orders those who practise homosexuality, present deep-seated homosexual tendencies or support the so-called "gay culture"[10]. I started as an altar boy
Working at the Church
Learning all my holy moves
Doing some research
Which led me to a cash box
Labeled “Children’s Fund.”
I’d leave the change & tuck the bills
