I have to admit she played this perfectly. The story is just salacious and unfalsifiable enough that cucks like Flake and Corker would be glad to roll over. It falls apart if Ford's testimony collapses, but I'm starting to think that Feinstein helped arrange for her lawyer to coach her since getting the letter in July.
If Kavanaugh goes down they'll just nominate someone more conservative (probably a woman). |

There's a stable of fully vetted backups ready to go that can be easily confirmed while R's are still a senate lock. And chances are it will be someone they find less palatable than Kav. This also might rally R troops before the midterm to some small extent.
