Officers in the operational air force tend to like, those of us in support roles tend not to. You have to move around a lot, and it's tough on kids and a trailing spouse if you have them. However, you aren't going to make any real money during that time and your family will have to pack up and move around a lot.

The money is fine if you peg your lifestyle to your O-3 pay and then just invest/save everything over that. |

If you live on base, its like being in 1950s America. Packs of kids running around and on bikes because its a secluded environment where everyone knows everyone else.
If youre overseas, this is a great opportunity.
If your wife is smart, she can snag a DoD BIG FED job. They have a Priority Placement Program for spouses of service members. |
