No one with money was living down there. Chelsea was gritty and gays. Meatpacking was filled with trans hookers. Even Times Square was pretty fucking gross until the mid-90s. An bc families with money up until recently always chose uptown due to schools and housing stock and traditional wealth, it's just odd your fam would be downtown. Unless you grew up poor, in which case that's different.

they are upscale casual. not a place like daniel where you spend 3 or 4 or 5 hrs on a meal. i have never seen them overdo it though |

they literally pick up each person's plate as soon as they're done instead of waiting until the entire table is done. the bus boys are on orders to rush you out asap. i poasted a long rant about this a couple years ago. |
