They were the first company that did seatbelts back in the 50s. They launched a whole campaign about no one (passenger, pedestrian, etc dying in a Volvo crash by 2020). More than other brands they focus on safety as a primary brand trait.

In particular, their 2L engine is twin charged (supercharged and turbo charged). And it’s 2L because in China, anything over 2L is heavily taxed.

This is tech not seen since the Lancia Delta Stradale. I would not buy one, but the interiors are nice and people seem to like the XC90 (the wait list was quite long, not sure if it still is).
