Getting my first gun for home defense and occasional target shooting

Gun will also be used by my wife

I searched old threads and almost no one recommends a glock 17 over a 19 or 26. Any reason for this?

Doesn't seem to be hard to find and prices are comparable to the glock

Why do you like the 92FS vs. the glock?

If you have to ask, just test-rent or buy both and enjoy. They are different creatures but do the same thing equally well.

92FS is good. CZ-75 is good. Glocks are good. All good double stack 9mm guns.

17s are the most widely sold handguns on earth, so they certainly get some love.

I’d personally get a 19 over. 17 because of lower weigh, not as long, good balance, and still holds 15 rounds vs 17 rounds on the 17

longer barrels and heavier weight are better for everything but concealment

Nope, but she is eager to learn

I shot guns when I was younger so I am not too worried about the weight but my wife's ability to handle a 17 seems to be the only real consideration, if there is much of a difference

I don’t think it’s wise to give an inexperienced noob a handgun without a manual safety.

if one doesn't start with a safety you never have to get used to those faggot annoyances.

If you're not carrying it around much the 17 is better than the 19. Otherwise, get the 19.

glock 24 4th gen .45

don't share a gun with a female. she should use something that doesn't jam like a .357 lady s&w or if she big, a 1911.
