In the proposed game, players could bill hours, draft documents, and appear before judges who would hear cases. An "expert mode" allowed players to litigate complex matters involving torts, contracts, and criminal law.[2] In this mode, players would delve into mountains of paperwork and find themselves quickly besieged by unethical opposing counsel, hostile clients, and loan collection agencies seeking payment.[3] Maxis canceled the game after teenage focus groups rated it as "boring" and "so dumb".[4] Attorneys from multiple bar associations also opposed the game's release, noting that the main character, a beady-eyed lawyer named Herschel Wright, only fed antisemitic stereotypes.[5][6]
