I work from home most of the time, so when my wife is at work and kids are at school, I am alone. Also, when my wife is home and kids are at at school we get couples time.

I do a fair amount of fishing, so that's either me time or sometimes me-and-the-kids time. Wife isn't that into it, but I'm trying to win her over.

There's a lot less "me" time for parents when kids are really young.

I take the kids out on weekends by myself sometimes so my husband can watch the game or whatever alone.

My husband will do this occasionally for me, but I rather save up for a weekend trip where I go somewhere alone or with a group of friends. He will do this too, like a guys ski trip.

I feel like whenever I go to a play date with young children it’s usually one mom or one dad going with the kids and their spouse is alone at home (or they’re out, but it’s their afternoon or morning off).

Also on a museum, aquarium etc outing that requires admission cost, we don’t like to pay for 2 adults. Why spend twice the amount when one adult can be off doing something else they enjoy?

Kids are 180. Yes, even when they’re little and crying/sleeping/shitting all the time. It’s fun to just sit and watch my daughter play. And while I play with her sometimes, she’s fine with her toys while I surf the internet on my phone sometimes too. Not that much different than if I were alone.

I can understand the wife thing because you all are exposed to so many toxic scenarios here. Very few people talk about 180 wives. It’s most TC, Dirte and other divorced doods complaining about what it was like. But if you find the right person, you don’t care as much about being by yourself.

That said, the occasional night with friends or whatever to preserve some along time is helpful. Again, that’s where having a 180 spouse who appreciates that comes in.

I say this as an introvert who really appreciated his alone time before marriage. But what you realize (again, if you find a good wife) is that you wasted a lot of time alone and there’s actually a toxicity to it that goes away when you have someone to share your life with.
