You can get an aftermarket head unit with apple play installed in your old car for $500-1000 depending on what features you need, and it will sound much better than any factory stereo. Spending $25k on a car just for that feature is fucking retarded.

I have an aftermarket head unit in my 2017 Camry with a doohickey that links it up to my steering wheel controls and backup camera and everything. It also connects to the engine computer and gives me a bunch of digital gauges and engine computer info. You can program it to control your climate control and other vehicle features if you need to. You just plug it into your computer and tell it what kind of car you have, and it downloads and installs settings specific to it. Admittedly this is not possible if your car has one of those faggot pop-up screens.

Not true. Even in many new cars with those faggy screens, you can still get a dash kit and computer interface that lets you add an aftermarket head unit and retain the factory screen/controls etc.

Maybe the EX comes with a better head unit. Some factory stereos even have RCA outputs. Some companies like Subaru and Toyota always have terrible factory units that sound like shit with any aftermarket amp.

It's all over the discussion forums. The Highlander has had that POS transmission for a few years now, and the RAV4 just got it too. Toyota chose the design for fuel efficiency, at the expense of performance and reliability.

Hybrid is the only way to go with Toyotas now. Or manual if you can find one.
