Per new guidelines, New York Times staff will no longer use the phrase "morbid obesity" in their reportage and op-eds, except when directly quoting. As a qualifier, the word "morbid," with its connotations of death and danger, reinforces the idea that large size is something to recoil from rather than acknowledge and move on, or even celebrate. Stigmas often begin with the very language we use."

yeah that's pretty bad lol.
BMI is inaccurate for athletes though. Still, even someone who is jacked is going to be at least somewhat fat at that BMI. Like an NFL offensive lineman.
