It has very little artistic value (actors sucked, cinematography sucked, music sucked), and what was good about it seemed to be in educating white people about inner city life. As Simon’s characterization looks more and more like sympathetic lies, the less value the show has.
True Detective is worth being mentioned. Band of Brothers. But it’s hard to find shoes that were so good for so long as BB, MM and Sopranos. |

It’s 100% two amazing talents paying off the emotional climax of the entire show. Michael B. Jordan in Season 1 was also amazing and launched an entire Marvel franchise plus a Rocky reboot. If Dookie wasn’t so ugly he would be a huge star too. He was phenomenal. Carcetti did pretty well for himself. And McNulty is admittedly not a great actor, but he’s had a great career as well.
