i generally think rent control is god awful and has devastating consequences for the entire economy.
but is there some way to prevent kike landlords from fucking perfectly good tenants in the ass with ridiculous rent increases just because they know the transaction costs of moving are quite high?
the "free market" breaks down in this type of situation. do we just have to accept this, or otherwise go for full-on rent control?

Apartments should be rented furnished, like motel rooms. Then you just have to pack up your clothes to move.
Laugh if you want to, but I lived in a couple of furnished apartments, and it was 180.

Rent control coupled with laws preventing rents from being raised after the tenant moved out
Also rent review boards who can vote on allowing pass through of costs associated with upgrading units (applicable to new tenants or to old ones who accept the costs)
