some will say "priced in!" but not really. the daily sell pressure from miners will literally halve. the bitcoin network will literally halve in security if BTC stays at the same price. no way that happens.
a sustained pump WILL occur in the run-up to this event. if you believe it's priced in, you can sell later in the month for easy 1.5x gains. if you don't believe it's priced in, you can hold through and get 2x+
what are the downsides? pretty much NONE. right now at $6.5k, it's insanity to think that BTC will stay at these low levels. it was in the middle of its own bear market and then got hammered again by the stock market sell-off to an absurd extent. even if i'm wrong, you lose almost nothing, it's not like you'll get better returns in the stock market lol.
Buy bitcoin, hold for 3 weeks, and i promise you'll make money |

ethereum is the network upon which all these stablecoins and exchange tokens have been built. have you heard of USDC? paxos? tether? BUSD? huobi token? leo token? ftx token? binance token? kucoin token? pretty much half the front page of coinmarketcap is dependent on the ethereum network. makes me LOL when people think that ethereum is abandonware or nobody uses it. it's used to secure BILLIONS of dollars of actual USD-backed stable coins, and then BILLIONS of dollars more of exchange tokens. not to mention defi, all the other projects built on top of ethereum (like chainlink) which may or may not be duds but inarguably right now are worth many billions of dollars. |

It was even worse in November and early Dec 2017, when people FOMO’d into BTC so hard (CME futures launch) that shitcoins fell in USD even as BTC went parabolic. Alts mooned only after the futures launched and the FOMO ended (late Dec 2017-Jan 2018).
If the halving plays out anything like that, alts may not moon in the next four weeks even if BTC does. |

BTC/shitcoin correlations have continued to decrease throughout 2018 and 2019 as USDT trading pairs overtook BTC pairs in volume. Your thesis that BTC will moon prior to the halving is not a sure thing (a good probabilistic bet perhaps, but not a sure thing). Your thesis that shitcoins will moon prior to the halving is even less certain still. |
