Nietzsche's view of sublimation is not that a less noble drive is diverted towards a more noble object in the world, but that - true to the word - worldly drives are spiritualized, vaporized, diverted to imagination.
It seems that this spiritualization then re-concretizes itself, in the same manner as the original drive, but distributed over time.
