So reclaiming Taiwan would be for China like a reversal of that war. |

I’m actually more sympathetic to China’s claims re: Hong Kong than Taiwan. Hong Kong is basically just a vestige of British colonialism. Why should that get any deference? China could invite the Brits to start a third opium war if they feel that strongly about the issue |
