each successive dip will become shorter and shallower but if it isn't obvious crypto can still experience dramatic swings. as 'mainstream' as btc is becoming altcoins are still completely foreign to just about all living human beings. whole space is still finding its feet. and this is to say nothing of all the uninsured leverage built up in the system which will only accelerate a steep fall.
we will see $500k btc soon enough but we'll see $20k bitcoin again first
if you have crypto investments truly earmarked for the long-term (as i do), fine keep them, but most people (including myself) dipped into other sources of liquidity to take advantage of this bull run. might want to start thinking about that at the margin. |

there may be more upside to btc from the recent QE. there is definitely more upside to btc due to general adoption and acceptance. and there is definitely more upside to btc due to the inevitable decline of US hegemony and the subsequent decline of the dollar. but none of that happens on a straight line.
if you're truly never selling *any* your btc then none of this matters to you. but if, during the recent bull run, you used liquidity that you might otherwise want available to you as btc falls back to $20k at some point, well, it's worth thinking about sizing. |
